| Winter arrived early to Toronto this year, so our cars got stuck in the garages way to early. I have been planning for a while to get the headrests installed on my 71 DSpecial, so I thought that this would be a good reason to spend some time in the garage. First thing to determine was weather I need wide headrests (old style) that are attached at the side of the seat backrest, or narrow ones that can be inserted right into the backrest. Wide style: Narrow style (found at Der Franzose in Germany): I examined the top of the backrest by pressing it with my hands and detected two pipes built right into the frame at the distance that appeared to be right. White stickers are shown right above the places I detected the pipes. I had a pair of CX headrests, but I noteced that the distance between the rods on them is narrower than on those for the DS. I found that Western Hemispheres in California had the correct type of headrests as well as plastic bushings that can be inserted in the seat as guides and a grommet for proper finishing at the top of the backrest. I placed a small philips screwdriver right above the pipe and made a little hole in the backrest cover. I inserted the plastic bushing through the cover and straight into the pipe in the seat frame. I put a little bit of glue on the seat cover just under the plastic bushing top in order to get them attached and prevent any potential tearing of the seat cover. The next step was to insert the headrest, and the job was complete.

| Salut Cg!
My moto is that "Citroens are made to be driven!". The only time I do not drive my DS (2CV and GS') is during the winder when there is salt on the roads. But, even during the winder, I will find a nice and dry day (like today) to go for a good ride.
Normally, I drive my DS for about 5,000km per year.
What is your "ride"?
Regards, Nebo | |

| Salut Nebo,
I have a C3 and a Dyane. I use the Dyane all year around, I just avoid salty roads. I have it for almost two years and I drove 13.000 happy km.
I love the DS too... I have even been to the 50 years DS celebration in Paris.
Kind regards,

Gg >> I love Dyane. While at University in Belgrade, Serbie, I bought 1977 Dyeane 6 in 1988 and I drove it until 1993 when I moved to Canada. Why don't you post a few pictures of your Dyane in "My Citrobiography" section? Rgds, N | |

| Hi Nebo,
For 2008, I will stop saying "tomorrow I will" and do post a few photos and a small text. Mine is a 1976 bamboo green.
A very good day for you.
Kind regards,
